Exposed aggregate driveways, stamped patios, garage pads, walkways, and concrete flatwork — formed, poured, and finished by Oakville's premier concrete contractor.
Concrete is one of the most durable and versatile surfaces available for driveways, patios, walkways, and flatwork — but only when it's mixed, poured, and finished correctly. Ontario's freeze-thaw cycles are brutal on poorly done concrete. We've all seen it — the spalling, the cracking, the lifting slabs. That's the result of inadequate sub-base, wrong mix design, or poor curing practice.
At True North Construction Inc, our concrete crews have been pouring in Ontario for over 13 years. We prepare proper sub-base, use correctly specified concrete mix, form precisely, finish beautifully, and cure properly — so your driveway, patio, or garage pad looks sharp and performs structurally for decades, not years.
From exposed aggregate driveways to stamped patio surfaces — here's the full range of concrete work our team delivers.
From site prep to final seal — here's exactly how we pour and finish your concrete project.
The most common cause of cracked, settled, or heaved concrete isn't the mix or the finish — it's inadequate sub-base preparation. Concrete poured over poorly compacted soil or insufficient granular base will crack in Ontario's freeze-thaw cycles no matter how good the surface looks on pour day.
We excavate to proper depth, install and compact granular sub-base in lifts, and set formwork to exact grade before a single yard of concrete is ordered. The work you can't see after the pour is the most important work we do.
Not all concrete is the same. For exterior flatwork in Ontario, we specify a minimum 32 MPa air-entrained mix — the air entrainment is critical for freeze-thaw resistance, as it creates microscopic air bubbles that give the concrete room to expand and contract without cracking.
We also use fibre reinforcement in flatwork and steel rebar or wire mesh where loads demand it. Proper control joint spacing is laid out before the pour — giving the concrete predictable places to crack if it does, keeping visible cracking out of the field.
Based in Oakville, we pour and finish concrete for homeowners across GTA North, cottage country, and all of Ontario.
